Adele and One Direction jack album sales in the U.S.

Two British star Adele and One Direction helped album sales in the U.S., which fell 0.6% in the first six months of 2012.
Until now 21 Adele album is still the best-selling album with sales of 3.7 million copies, while her first album, 19, is still sold as many as 539 000.


While Boyband One Direction in third line of best-selling album with sales reaching 899,000 copies for their debut album, Up All Night.
Overall, 220 million albums sold this year, according to Nielsen tally institute, which showed that the U.S. music market started to recover since last year.
Nielsen data says total sales figures, including singles, albums, music videos and digital tracks reached 853 million, up from year 2011 to reach 820 million.
Digital sales from iTunes and Amazon mostly be the largest contributor to reverse the slump that has affected the industry since 2004.
Digital album sales rose 13.8% to 57 million, while the physical album sales still decreased 3% from 155 million to 150 million.
